About Me
Anuj built Swiggy One into India's best-run membership and co-founded Profound, an AI-native challenger to LinkedIn.
Anuj Rathi is a co-founder of Profound, an AI-native global professional operating system reimagining how professionals discover, connect, and create together. He brings fifteen years of building and scaling world-class consumer platforms across India's most consequential internet companies.
Anuj is in the founding phase at Profound, working through the minus-one-to-zero journey: running deep user discovery calls, iterating on the profile product, and designing the viral loops that will power the network. The core insight driving the company is that professionals have never been truly understood by the tools meant to represent them. Profound is built to fix that, starting with an AI-driven conversation that makes users feel genuinely heard, then translating that into a profile and network that works for them.
Before Profound, Anuj served as Chief Business and Growth Officer at ClearTrip, where he inherited a mandate to grow the business and sharpen its cost structure across 25 business lines. He grew GMV from 14,000 crores to 18,000 crores in a year while cutting annual costs from $65 million to $40 million. Hotels, a largely untapped opportunity, went from roughly 2,500 room nights per day to 10,000. He diversified the corporate B2B business from a single client to a portfolio generating 50 crores per month, and rebuilt the travel agent channel from a handful of large aggregators to a long tail of agents across the country.
Anuj joined Swiggy in 2016 as Head of Product and spent seven years building the consumer, restaurant, and delivery product from the ground up, then expanding into revenue, growth, marketing, and new business lines. His biggest bets were Swiggy One and the Swiggy HDFC Credit Card. Swiggy One, India's first major food delivery membership program, was designed to move activated users into high-frequency loyal customers and prevent churn among Swiggy's most valuable cohort. He modeled 32 alternative program structures, launched within three and a half months, and rebalanced marketing spend from acquisition-heavy to a considered split that prioritized retention. The program became one of India's best-run membership programs. The Swiggy HDFC Credit Card, co-created with HDFC Bank, was built with a five-million-card target over five years and reached 1.5 million cards within two years.
Anuj was Flipkart's first product manager, joining in 2010 when the company was a book-selling website and helping build the buyer experience as it expanded into 100-plus categories and grew roughly 100x in two years. He built India's first mobile commerce site and laid the product foundations that shaped how a generation of Indians shops online. He later led buyer experience at Snapdeal, managing a team of 40 product managers, before moving to Walmart Global eCommerce as a Senior Product Manager for store services generating $700 million in annual revenue.
